(Boise, Idaho) – The Ada County Elections Division is pleased to announce the Early Voting precinct will officially open to all Ada County voters on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.
The Early Voting precinct, located in the Public Safety Building at 7180 Barrister Drive in Boise, will be open week days, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Monday, November 3rd. Voters looking to avoid lines at the polls on Election Day should consider voting early to help bypass the Election Day rush.
Voters who missed the October 10th deadline for preregistration may register and vote at the Early Voting location. To register, prospective voters will need to bring a photo identification and proof of current address. A current driver’s license has both photo and current address. Otherwise, the photo identification from the driver’s license and a utility bill will suffice.
Additionally, voters who requested a ballot to be mailed to them and made a mistake in marking their ballot may exchange it for a new one at the early voting location. Mailed ballots need to be returned by mail or can be dropped off at the County Courthouse or early voting location. They cannot be accepted at the polls election night.
NOTE: Due to the incredible response Ada County has received to its absentee ballot direct mail campaign, the decision has been made NOT to open the Early Voting location in Meridian. The Early Voting location at the Public Safety Building on Barrister Drive is the ONLY Early Voting location that will be open in preparation for the November 4th election.
